Alan received his introduction to lean when he worked for 13 years in the Service Parts Logistics Division of Toyota. He was responsible for training, developing, and implementing lean methods throughout the supply chain. Significant achievements during his tenure included implementing the first regional rollout of just-in-time (JIT) deliveries to the dealership level. He also helped design and develop the operational procedures for a new Toyota distribution center using an automated warehouse control system and integrating material handling equipment into operational processes.
Alan received top honors at the 1997 North American Kaizen Conference and was selected to represent North America at the 1998 Kaizen World Cup, held in Japan. Currently, Alan aids companies in implementing lean through Lean Quest.
