Lean healthcare executives, managers, and practitioners who are changing the way we deliver and pay for healthcare will gather at the third annual Lean Healthcare Transformation Summit, June 6-7, 2012, in Minneapolis, MN, to share best practices and the results of recent experiments in the application of lean principles.
Thought leaders within the healthcare and lean communities will address the summit, including keynoters:
- John Toussaint, M.D., founder and CEO of the ThedaCare Center for Healthcare Value, CEO emeritus of ThedaCare, and author of newly-released book Potent Medicine,
- Harold Miller, executive director of the Center for Healthcare Quality and Payment Reform,
- John Shook, chairman and CEO of the Lean Enterprise Institute (LEI).
Sponsored by LEI and the ThedaCare Center for Healthcare Value, the summit is designed for senior leaders, physicians, administrators, managers, and front-line clinical or professional staff — virtually any healthcare professional involved in or interested in change within their organizations.
Member organizations of the Healthcare Value Network, which unites lean leaders at systems across the U.S. and Canada, as well as other organizations, will report on experiments to improve the transparency of healthcare data, accelerate lean cultural transformations, and create learning environments in hospitals, in addition to other lean efforts being tested.
Attendees also will hear plenary sessions from Network leaders:
- Alice W. Lee, vice president, business transformation, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
- Jim FitzPatrick, president and CEO, Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa
The summit combines a full curriculum of Learning Sessions, small interactive classes about practices on the frontier of lean thinking in the healthcare community, with networking, plus ample time for follow-up discussions with presenters.
The $1,400 tuition includes participation in the summit, participant materials, welcome reception on June 5, and food (breakfast, lunch, and snacks) for both days. Pre-Summit workshops are available on June 4 and 5 for an additional fee.
