Huddles

Meetings at project tracking boards among improvement teams doing status reports on value-stream performance or progress toward value-stream improvement goals and action plans.

The meetings identify where expected outcomes are not being achieved and who needs to investigate possible causes and experiment with potential countermeasures. The meetings are usually brief and done standing up.

In healthcare, a huddle is a quick meeting of a team working on a common project, shift, or patient. Huddles are held to expand on points made at briefings at the start of a work day, to share information, make contingency plans, express concerns, addresses conflicts, and reassign resources. It helps the team adapt to events. Huddles typically last less than 30 minutes.
