In this short video, Jim Womack suggests that managers or companies sharing value streams have a “a horizontal conversation” to offset the vertical nature of companies. To have that conversation, managers need to take a walk, draw a value-stream map to determine the current state of their shared process, agree on what the performance gap is, and envision an improved future state with a plan to achieve it through a series of experiments.
